Dr. Steven M. Smith is a licensed Orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Smith graduated with Honors from the University of Minnesota and completed his residency at Veterans Administration Medication Center in Minnesota. He is Board Certified by American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and fellow of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Smith has proudly served Sevier County for over 30 years and will continue to dedicate his knowledge and abilities to the people of East Tennessee.
Taylor Banks
joined the team at LeConte Orthopedics in 2024. Born and raised in Sevierville, Tennessee, she received her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from East Tennessee State University. She then went on to receive her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Taylor has had the privilege of working for LeConte Orthopedics for several years prior to coming back as a PA-C. She loves that LeConte is dedicated to its patients and that the providers care immensely about each individual.
Doug Estey is a Certified Physician Assistant licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1996 and Masters of Science in 1998 with a concentration in Orthopedic surgery. He has completed research on visco supplementation and published articles on this topic. Doug also served for twenty-seven years in the Army National Guard as a Helicopter pilot and as a Physician Assistant. After two deployments during Operation Desert Storm and being deployed to Afghanistan, he retired in 2010. Doug now treats all types of Orthopedic problems for all patients, young and old.
Madison
was born and raised in Sevierville, TN. She went to the University of Tennessee Knoxville for her undergraduate and will be attending South College in Nashville for PA School this fall. She enjoys playing tennis, hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, and spending time with her friends and family.
Drew Day is a Certified Physician Assistant licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee. He completed his Masters of Health Science, Physician's Assistant in 2021. Drew is originally from Sevier County and enjoys working in our region to help patients with all their orthopedic needs.
Dr. Christopher, M.D. is an Orthopedic surgeon who has been active in his profession since 1997. He became board certified and became a diplomat of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in 2000. He has extensive experience in treatment of the knee, hip, shoulder, and hand. He has performed thousands of joint replacements, arthroscopies, and other orthopedic procedures.
Dr. Christopher attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond Virginia. He was selected into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society while in medical school After a 1 year surgical internship in the U.S. Army, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia. He then served as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Army from 1997-2000. Originally recruited to work in Knoxville, he and his family chose to settle in Morristown and began practicing there, in 2000.
Dr. Christopher has championed bringing the latest orthopedic technologies to the East Tennessee region to include computer assisted joint replacements and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Christopher has staff privileges at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Systems (Covenant), the Volunteer Ambulatory Surgery center and Jefferson Memorial Hospital (Tennova).
